IS THIS LASER PAIN TREATMENT RIGHT FOR YOU?

If you are currently experiencing pain or have lingering aches and pains from a previous injury, the answer is likely “yes”.  Have other therapies helped you feel better, but there is still a nagging pain that never totally resolves? Deep tissue Laser Therapy is probably for you.  Laser therapy increases circulation to damaged tissue too deep for other treatments to penetrate, helping speed recovery.  It helps you return to the activities you enjoy, so you can get back to living again.

WHAT DOES IF FEEL LIKE?

Laser pain relief treatments are administered either just above or in contact with the skin depending on what part of the body is being treated. Patients will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered.  Many patients receiving LightForce© Laser therapy treatments report a rapid decrease in pain after just a few sessions. For someone suffering from chronic pain, this can be particularly pronounced.

HOW LONG DO TREATMENTS LAST?

With LightForce© lasers, treatments are quick, usually no more than 10 minutes, depending on the size and the depth of the target tissue being treated. The LightForce laser is high powered, so it is able to deliver energy in a short amount of time allowing therapeutic dosages to be achieved quickly.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Patients generally start to experience results after three to five treatments, depending on how long the pain has been present. For someone suffering from chronic pain, more treatments are usually necessary than for an acute pain condition.  Dr. Boyajian or Dr. Rogers will develop specific treatment plans based on the diagnosis and the tissues that are involved.  At the start of treatment, twice a week sessions for the first two weeks are planned.  Then a session once a week until the desired improvement is obtained.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The LightForce© Laser emits two specific wavelenghts of light photons that are absorbed into the mitochondria, (a organelle that all cells have), where cellular chemical energy is produced. This absorbed energy results in a biologic cascade of chemical reactions.  The physiological effects of increased energy production are increases tissue oxygenation and increased synthesis of ATP (the molecule that transfers energy for cellular chemical reactions).   This leads to an increased rate of tissue regeneration and increased microcirculation. As a result, inflammation is reduced so pain is reduced and recovery occurs faster.  Deep tissue Laser treatment effects along with physical therapy should increase the likelihood for functional recovery.
